Payment Authorization Holds
When you place an order with MaisonCrest, you may notice a temporary pending charge on your credit or debit card. This is known as a payment authorization hold.
An authorization hold is not a final charge. It is a temporary approval requested from your bank or card issuer to confirm that the funds are available for your purchase.
Why you may see a pending charge
When an order is submitted, your financial institution may place a hold for the order amount while the payment is being verified and prepared for processing. This is a standard part of many card transactions.
Because the hold is temporary, it may appear in your account before the final charge is completed.
Why the final charge may look different
In some cases, the amount shown as pending may not match the final charge on your account. This can happen if your order ships in multiple shipments or if the payment is captured as items are processed.
You may also see the original authorization hold and the final posted charge at the same time for a short period. While this can look like a duplicate charge, the original hold is typically removed by your bank once the transaction is finalized.
When the hold is removed
MaisonCrest is unable to release an authorization hold directly. Holds are removed according to your bank or card issuer’s policies.
If you have questions about how long a pending charge will remain on your account, we recommend contacting your bank or card provider for details.
